Cyprus (Κύπρος, Kýpros in Greek) is located in Southwest Asia and is the third biggest island of Mediterranean Sea. Turkey is 65 km far from North, Syria is 112 km eastwards, 267 km between Israel, 162 km with Lebanon, 418 km from Egypt, and Greece is 965 km far from the island.
It is not possible to know the first guests and where they come from to Cyprus but researchs shows that there was some residents in B.C 8500. There were many names of Cyprus in history but the one they use it right now is believed that the name is coming from the word called 'copper' which contained a lot in the island. Another theory, the name of the island is Kypros (means hena in Greek)

57 percent of North Cyprus is a field for farming. Fruits and vegetables like Citrus Fruits, barley, wheat, olive, potato, carob and carrot is producing in Cyprus. Water resources be in used with the modern watering system. Breeding in Island is in progress as ovine and bigwig. Meat and Milk products are glorified in Cyprus. Especially 'Helloumi Cheese' is very famous and because of the long springs of Cyprus, beekeeping is improving.
Vegetation Cover and Geographical Structure:
The Vegetation Cover of Cyprus is made up of olives, carobs, pines, cypresses and green bushes. Olives and Carobs are the traditional trees of Cyprus. Like in Karpaz, pine trees, olive trees and cranberries also available in Beşparmak mountains. Güzelyurt, located in the west side of the island, is famous with Citrus Fruits. As a nature lover, you can discover the orchids, endemic plants, endless beaches and watch the turtles under protection. The natural beauty of Cyprus is also a hometown of a lots of plants and wildlifes. Also you can experience a rural life life in Cyprus which is never changed for centuries. North Cyprus has a typical mediterrenean and also healthy climate. Summers are long and hot, winters are short and less rainfall. Cold winds, icing and snow is unseeable weather types in Cyprus.

Entering Cyprus : Entering T.R.N.C for Turkish people is with Passport or with I.D's . Driving license is not valid for entering or leaving the island but its valid for renting a car. Children who wants to come to island without their parents and aged under 18 must have the papers approved from notery and must have them before the flight. It is hardly recommended that you to open your international calls for your simcard before you come from Turkey.
Education : North Cyprus education system is considered in three parts. These are education, secondary education and higher education. From age of 5 to 15 must have the education and it is also free in the Country. In High Schools and Vocational High School's are giving 3 years of education. Education is 4 years in colleges and in Fine Arts High School. Students who finish secondary education and aged 18 or 19 can go for higher education optionally. In 2009 educational level of Cyprus is 100 percent in pre-school, primary school and elemantary schools, 78 percents in High Schools and 74 percents in Universities.
Health : 10 Health Centers, 5 hospitals (2 local, 2 general and 1 psychiatric) is still available in T.R.N.C. Examing, custody and treatments are continue in Dr. Burhan Nalbantoglu Hospital, and Barış Psychiatric Hospital in Nicosia, State hospital in Famagusta, Cengiz Topel Hospital in Yeşilyurt, Dr.Akçiçek Hospital in Kyrenia. Güzelyurt, Lapta, Geçitkale, Akdoğan, Yeni İskele, Yeni Erenköy, Akıncılar, Mehmetçik, Lefke and Serdarlı has Health Center one each. 5 Head Physician, 63 specialist, 26 Practician Doctor, 10 assistant Doctor( also part time specialist traning given in Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Hospital) 13 dentist and 16 pharmacist are working in Hospitals.
Traffic : People drive on left in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
International traffic signboards are also valid.
Electric System : 220/240 Volts A/C. 50 Hz, and european adaptor is in use.
